Job Summary
As a Children’s Services Senior Support Worker, your role will involve providing leadership and support to a team of support workers in a children’s services setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising a team of support workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to children and young people.
- Assessing the needs of children and young people and developing individualised care plans.
- Monitoring and documenting the progress and development of children and young people, identifying any concerns or areas for improvement.
- Providing direct care and support to children and young people, including assistance with daily living activities, emotional support, and behavioural management.
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as social workers, psychologists, and educators, to ensure coordinated care and support.
- Participating in case conferences and team meetings to discuss and review the progress of children and young people
- Advocating for the rights and well-being of children and young people, promoting their safety, dignity, and inclusion.
- Providing guidance and training to support workers, facilitating their professional development and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Promoting a positive and nurturing environment for children and young people, fostering their growth, resilience, and independence.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role in children’s services.
- Diploma or equivalent in a relevant field, such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or Education.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, young people, and their families.
- Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and relevant legislation and regulations.
- Ability to assess and respond to the individual needs and challenges of children and young people
- Empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in the well-being and development of children and young people.
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred but if not training is provided).
