About Principle Support

Principle Support was founded in 2010 with an intentional focus on providing outstanding support to the residents of South Yorkshire. We began our journey in January 2012 with our very first individual.

The period prior to 2012 was used purely to educate ourselves and explore the needs of those who our services are provided for. This enabled us to shape our service offerings to achieve the desired outcome.

After more than a decade, we are extremely proud to be providing not only outstanding, but also life-enhancing support through a multi-faceted service comprising of first-class facilities and personnel.

Currently, we are proudly serving over 200 families and individuals in both supported living and respite settings.

Our journey starts with you …

We have embraced the idea of achieving our aims as a team. During the course of our growth, we have steadily enhanced our knowledge and expertise in the field of supported living and respite. These improvements have been borne out of close interaction and the assistance we have given to the individuals we support.

Our focus is with you …

This has helped us to create a ‘family’ of individuals at Principle Support who recognise that the continued improvement and quality of our support is vital.

At Principle Support, we are passionate about what we do and continually strive to achieve positive change.

2010

As our name implies, Principle Support was founded with the ‘principle’ aim to work with individuals who have a passion for supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. Our desire then and now is to support such people to lead their lives as independently as possible.

2012

In January 2012 Principle Support opened its doors and began working with its very first individual; a gentleman who enjoyed playing cards, chess and having long chats about his history.
It’s a pleasant coincidence that someone who loved history has become an important historical milestone in our service.

2013-2015

Alongside rapid and managed growth came a significant change through the creation of a team of admin staff, management staff and a large team of senior and support workers. Many of these people are still part of the Principle Support team today, as we continue our journey forward.

Principle Support soon became known as one of the best providers of high-quality and person-centred support across the City of Sheffield. We were awarded a ‘Good’ rating from our first CQC inspection. In addition to this, we achieved and became a recognised as an ‘Investor In People’. To this day we continue to make significant investment in staff training and their recognition.

2016-2020

Principle Support continued to enjoy significant and steady growth during this time, and we also restructured the way our support services were being managed and delivered. A new senior management structure was put in place alongside a dedicated Quality Assurance guarantee. We also expanded our services beyond Sheffield, and as a result we are now known as one of the leading support and respite providers across South Yorkshire.
This period of expansion also included the acquisition of Hartleys Care in 2017, which further improved our expertise and service provision.

2020 to date

We pride ourselves on the continuous positive feedback we receive from individuals, their families and representatives. As Principle Support has grown, we have also added two respite services, plus multiple-supported living services, whilst continuing to support individuals who live in their own homes.
